Purchasing Your Guitar
Part 2 of the How-to play Guitar Series
Purchasing Your First Guitar
When purchasing your first guitar there are several things to keep in mind. Perhaps one of the most important, is price. Oh yes, the price. While you can get an excellent guitar for cheap, it is safe to say that the more you pay, the better the axe. Now this is not the case for every guitar, but for most, it is.
Starting out, I suggest that you dont buy an expensive guitar. My kind of expensive is around $300, and thats a high price. Stick to anything under that and you should be fine. But if you want to take a dare and go for nothing, then do it. But if you’re like everyone else, have a budget when deciding one. You can get an good starting guitar for under $300. Ibanez, Epiphone, Dean, Fender Squire, and a few Jasmines are all good guitars for under $300. Gibson, Ibanez, Fender, Taylor and Dean have good guitars for over $300. If your limit is $300, I suggest an Epiphone or Ibanez, but hey, its all up to you. If you can spend more than $300, I suggest a Gibson, Fender, and Taylor.
If your wanting a bass, Epiphone, Ibanez, Washburn, and Gibson are all excellent guitars.
Stay tuned for part 3.
